Linux4Palm

Following hot on the heels of Cris' success with the TX, Richard_T5 reports that not only has he got USB networking happening on the

No more tears (updated)

PalmOS

I don't know if some of you noticed it, but Alex released a nice hack to make your LD/TX (and probably other XScale palms) stop whining ... my TX is a lot happier now!

Go and grab it on sourceforge

Version 1.1 released
- For fun and pain relief you can now select a "hack level" from the menubar. Hopefully Ultra Violence mode will kill screen whine permanently even when using Pocket Tunes and co.
- Should also work on T|C & T|E2 now but please test it doesn't reset using Info menu -> Whine test before selecting a hack level to avoid getting into a reset loop.

Thanks to Magon whose svn commit to do the same thing in Linux originally inspired this hack.

Familiar people announced Familiar Build Setup utility to ease the setup of OpenEmbedded derived build system for developers and skilled end users. Nice thing, IMHO...

Unified SVN message format

Linux4Palm

I'm integrating svn messages into the project info of our future web site (CMH), so I want you to start writing commit messages in unified format.

  • All messages should have a project prefix before them. Prefix is [a-z0-9]+, no upper-case letters please
  • Do not use ALL: prefix for global linux/ patches, use l4p:
  • Palm-specific commits are renamed: LD => palmld, T3 => palmtt3, palm T|C => palmtc, Zire72 => palmz72 (i.e. the same way they are named in the Linux4Palm menu)

Development of sound driver for T|T3

Our source in Central Europe, codename Magon, reports he has some serious progress in development of Linux sound driver for T|T3. Our investigation has shown the following:

  1. Initial guess that sound was connected to I2S bus is recognized as positive
  2. Dump of TI TSC2101 (audio/touchscreen chip) register performed
  3. Interrupt pins and actual wiring guess results found acceptable (no details given at the moment, further report from M. is anticipated)

Will upload later tonight after cleanup. Thank cris.
